2023
From white board idea to million dollar company
Edgar was unhappy with his work situation and wanted to create his own company but wasn’t sure where to begin. After hearing about our nonprofit through a mutual friend, he reached out for guidance.
Following our consultation and a few back-and-forth conversations, Edgar asked if I would join him as a business partner. I was hesitant at first, but saw it as a chance to create future resources for our nonprofit.
On January 27, 2023, we officially launched Top Level Painting, turning an idea into a reality.

2024
Year One: Full of Uncertainty and Opportunity
Our biggest challenge was managing the capital needed to keep up with the steady stream of work. Every payroll felt like a do-or-die moment.
I had to tap into all the personal credit I’d built over the years just to keep the business moving forward. Tensions ran high, but my entrepreneurial mindset kept me focused on solutions rather than conflict. Instead of clashing with my business partner, we worked through the challenges together and kept building.
2024
Year 2: Success and Growth
After reviewing our first year’s challenges and lessons, we made strategic changes, putting an even stronger focus on service and quality.
Our team doubled from 10 to 20 painters, and we closed out our most profitable year yet, reaching over $2 million in sales.
We also gave back, donating $30,000 to Y.E. Flips to support the next generation of entrepreneurs.
2025
Year Three: Let's See
With two years of hard-earned experience behind us, Year Three is about pushing limits.
We’re exploring new opportunities, expanding our client base, and setting our sights on bigger projects.
The story’s still being written, and we’re excited to see where it takes us.
